Our meaningful meals program aims to bring a curated restaurant experience to local shelters.
Our team of volunteers come together once a month to plan, cook, and serve a sustainable meal in local domestic violence shelters.
Each meal serves 20 individuals including their children and are put together to give shelter participants a break from their life in transition.
I felt many of my open wounds close with the tools and techniques offered throughout the training. I felt like I could be a ‘Wounded Warrior’ with the power to stand tall and overcome anything, despite the scars that I carry to this day. I know that my scars that were left behind will always remain, but I am so honored to now be able to say that my scars reveal how strong I have become for overcoming them.
This training has shifted the way I think about and define trauma, increasing my empathy and understanding of the different appearances of trauma. I know this will change the way I approach and relate to my clients.
